Notes on worms and fleas
Avoid the little things and prevent bigger problems
Worms
Worms are very common, especially in young animals. They may not always show visible signs, so you need to ensure you treat your pet regularly. Some worms, such as roundworms present a public health risk, especially for small children. Robb Vet Clinic can help you keep your pet worm free, ask us for more information during an annual check up or book an appointment at any one of our practices.
Fleas
Fleas feed on the blood of cats and dogs, then lay their eggs on the animals’ coat. Eggs drop off everywhere your pet goes, and hatch and develop into new adult fleas in carpets, furniture and bedding. Prevention of fleas on your pet and in your house is much easier, and cheaper, than treatment of the problem. Ask us about prevention and treatment during annual vaccinations or book an appointment to find out more.
